THE KITCHEN ARCHIVES

‘The Kitchen Archives’, is a project that explores the complex relationship between the restaurant industry in Dublin and cultural consumption. This installation and weekly performance reimagines food as a site of resistance and reflection, inviting a critical examination of societal structures through the lens of a gastronomic experience. The project integrates testimonies of 22 Mexican restaurant workers in Dublin obtained through surveys, polls, and one-on-one interviews. These stories offer a close look at their everyday experiences, highlighting the complexity of the cultural and work environments they navigate. Each element on the table becomes a way to narrate, share, and give visibility to experiences that often remain outside the public eye.
